How it Works

Colon Hydrotherapy can effectively cleanse out years of excess waste, pollutants and toxic substances.
Your first session starts with us reviewing your full health history and goals for this work, as well as going over all the information in our WELCOME PACKS.*
*The INFO can be read on line, but the FORMS will need to be filled out and brought with you to your first appointment.

Prior to your initial Colon Hydrotherapy appointment please be sure to download and fill out the Welcome Pack. We need you to bring these forms with you to your visit ALREADY FILLED OUT. We also need you to contact us immediately if you have any of the listed contraindications, or questions of any kind.

During a Colon Hydrotherapy session you are lying comfortably on your back on a padded table, propped up and covered at all times. The process is one of gently filling the colon with warm filtered water through a small instrument called a speculum. The speculum is designed to bring the clean filtered water into the colon and to also carry waste out. The colon is alternately filled with water and then released, allowing waste to flow out. Abdominal massage is also used to help stimulate the release of waste. This process is repeated throughout the session, which lasts from 45 to 55 minutes. The result is a gentle flushing of the colon, and a loosening of old fecal waste.

When water enters the colon it is called a ‘fill’. Each fill time will be different – they can last from several seconds to several minutes. Usually the water coming into the body enters so gently that you can hardly feel it. During the fill cycle you may feel a little rumbling in your tummy, gassy or crampy – or you may feel relaxed and peaceful. Whatever you are feeling during your treatment is perfectly normal. Any sensations are signs that the water is doing its job of loosening and softening accumulated waste in the colon. Remember, the colon is a muscular system and moves waste out of the body by a series of muscular contractions known as peristaltic action. When you feel crampy during a colonic treatment your colon is getting ready to move waste out of the body. The cramps may feel a bit uncomfortable but it is a sign that the colon is doing exactly what we want it to do and that is to move waste out.

To aid in the detoxification and cleansing process you can also have the added benefit of an Implant. Implants are concentrated solutions that are introduced into the colon so that they can be absorbed.

During your session we can talk about how many treatments you might benefit from. This will depend on what we learn from your session, your health history, and your own particular health goals. This may vary from one session to a series of 6 to 12 sessions over a period of 3 to 12 weeks. Because maintenance will help you keep the benefits achieved from your initial series of sessions, it is also very beneficial to consider setting up a maintenance schedule. This can be once monthly, every other month, etc.

The majority of our clients schedule a series of six sessions about every six months.

*To qualify as a series, your sessions must be scheduled after completing your initial Colon Hydrotherapy session, scheduled in advance, booked no more than 1 week apart (more often if you’re not a daily pooper), and are pre-paid.

Implants

What is an Implant?

An implant is usually a small amount of a concentrated solution (coffee, wheatgrass, herbal preparations/teas, probiotics, aloe gel, etc.) inserted directly into the colon and retained for a certain amount of time. If you’re wondering why you would want to do that, or what the benefits might be, it really varies depending on what your needs are and what solutions you are implanting. One purpose would be maximum absorption of whatever is in the chosen solution, and it’s direct and immediate affect on the colon and therefore the rest of the body. The mucus membranes in the colon, and the way absorption works from there, is far more potent and direct than digesting a substance. In fact, rectal implants were the first IV’s (really) – a way to get nourishment and medicine into people who couldn’t eat or take anything.

For example: a probiotic implant. This allows for greater viability of a much larger population of the probiotic than just oral consumption. This is because the probiotic does not have to survive it’s way through hydrochloric acid and other extremes in pH before it arrives at the colon.

Another, and very different, example would be a coffee implant (often called a coffee enema): while retaining a coffee solution in the colon, the caffeine is absorbed through the colon wall and brought directly to the liver. Absorbing the caffeine in this fashion (as opposed to digesting it) causes the liver’s portal vein to dilate, the bile ducts to expand, and the bile flow to increase. This causes the smooth muscles of these organs to relax, a 700% increase in certain enzymatic productions and a large flushing of toxic bile from the body.

Adjunct Therapies

To help maximize the detoxification and cleansing process we have several other beneficial adjunct therapies.

D-Tox Foot Bath & Infrared Sauna:

The D-Tox Foot Bath uses positive and negative ions to gently remove toxins from the soles of the feet.
The Infrared Sauna uses heat to penetrate deeply into our muscles, tissues and joints to help remove toxins from our cells.

Consider This

Most of us would never allow ourselves to go weeks without a shower or without brushing our teeth. We do these things at least once, or maybe even several times a day. Yet we go for years (or la lifetime) without cleansing our internal system.

Our goal is to help you to detoxify your whole body system so you can rebuild and regenerate new cells and tissues in a healthy environment. It won’t happen over night— 10, 20, 30, 40 or more years of toxic living can’t be rinsed out in an hour. It’s a process – sometimes a quick one, sometimes a slow one – and it can take time and commitment.

It’s been both of our personal experience, but we also continually hear it from our clients, that when Colon Hydrotherapy sessions are done on a regular basis they can really make a difference!
